2021 Annual Conference
January 19 - January 21$300.00
October 22, 2021
Dear Animal Control Officers and Shelter Workers:
The 2022 Annual Conference will be held January 19, 20,21st at the ABBEY INN, St. George Utah. YES! It’s really going to happen! The Conference is Wednesday through Friday and is a full three days. The cost of the Conference is $300.00 which includes tuition for the conference, your U.A.C.O.A membership, and a banquet held on JANUARY 20th. If you fail to pre-register and pay at the door the tuition is $350.00. The deadline for tuition is December 15th, 2021. If you do not pay tuition by this date you will not be able to attend the banquet as they need the exact head count at that time.
Sorry, with the cost for speakers and conference items, there will be no reimbursement, should you cancel.
The classes will be interesting and applicable. This will be like an Association Reunion get together again!! Masks are not mandated and will be left up to your own discretion.
SINCE THE PANDEMIC LINGERS AND WE’RE GETTING BACK ON OUR FEET, THE SHELTER CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR 2022. WE HOPE THAT WE ARE ABLE TO BRING THE SHELTER CLASS BACK FOR 2023. WE ENCOURAGE SHELTER STAFF TO ATTEND THE CONFERENCE AS WE HAVE TRIED TO COMBINE THE NEED IN THE AGENDA.
We are excited about the classes scheduled for this year. The board has put a lot of thought and work into arranging speakers and instructors especially in these unprecedented times. They are willing to take time out of their busy schedules to come and speak to us.
The earlier you confirm you are attending the conference, the better prepared we can be for each of you. We ask that you make your hotel reservations as soon as possible to ensure you get the type of room you want. Abbey Inn has asked that the rooms be booked by December 15, 2021. The cost per room this year is $85.00 + tax per night for single person and $90.00 + tax per night if there are 2 people in your room. This includes spouses. The phone number is 1-435-652-1234. Let them know that you are with the Utah Animal Control Officers Association for this rate. (If you do not reserve your room by December 15th, you will not get the rate of $85.00 per night)+ tax
Yes, the silent auction is still a “GO” too! but with a stipulation. If you bring one item or 10, you only receive one ticket to be put into the drawing.
If you bring a silent auction item(s), the only time you will be able to get a ticket is during registration. No items will be accepted afterwards. We are going to ask that if you enter into the silent auction that the minimum cost of your item be $5.00. And just a friendly reminder, don’t bid with someone else’s name, okay?
Remember to nominate a shelter worker or volunteer for the Civilian employee/volunteer of the year award. The form is included in this information.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pam or Bryan at the agency numbers listed below. We look forward to seeing you in St George.
